I was reading the P&J today and saw the story about Niall Iain MacDonald (from BBC Alba) and his effort to row solo across the Atlantic from New York to Stornaway to raise funds for SAMH (Scotland's mental health charity)
He is hoping to raise £100,000 and has so far got £17,000.
He set off this morning and you can follow his progress at ny2sy.co.uk where you can learn more about Niall and the charity and you can also donate to him or buy a t-shirt, sticker or key ring.
Fair play to the lad i struggled to row a boat at Cooper park last summer.
Unfortunately Niall has suffered an injury and has had to be rescued.
