Good summary Egger......
Quite a strange game of football - very little for either keeper to do in a scrappy game which was a very poor advert for the first division. It
appears that both sides had their minds focussed on the forthcoming Scottish Cup quarter - finals this weekend / avoiding injury. It is ironic however
that injuries suffered in tonight's game by two players - County's Steven Watt (pulled hamstring) and Raith's Craig Walker (broken arm) will
inevitably mean that both will miss out for that very reason.
I hope that Yogi was there tonight because the disjointed performance he would have seen by County is not reflective at all of the way that we can
play when firing on all cylinders. In saying that Raith did not contribute much to the game either. Their first half performance must be the poorest
display that County have faced in the league this season.
The most frustrating aspect was that the victory was there for the taking. County could have and should have come away with all three points, but were
denied with a mixture of bad luck / poor finishing in the latter stages of the game.
On 71 mins. and with the game balanced at 1-1 Martin Scott was unlucky when his angled half-volley from 12 yards out bounced off the angle of the
post/bar with the keeper beaten.
Five minutes later - and as Egger has pointed out - Barrowman found himself one-on-one with the keeper, but instead of passing the ball into the empty
left hand corner of the net his indecision meant that he instead tried to round the keeper on the other side. The delay meant that his effort on goal
at the right side was brilliantly cleared off the line by the backtracking Gathuessi, and diverted out for a corner.
One minute later - and from a second County corner from the other side - Martin Scott's powerful close-range downward header was somehow deflected
off the line for what looked like a certain goal.
If any of these three late chances had gone in, there is no doubt that County would have come away with all three points.
As it was Raith got an undeserved winner on 83 mins. very much against the run of play.
County were also denied a late penalty when Grant Murray handled the ball inside the box right in front of the County support.
A night to forget for County, but Del's immediate priority must be to lift his side for the Q-F on Saturday.........

Forgot also to add that with one minute of regulation time to go Gardyne's powerful low shot from twelve yards out was well saved (and held) by the
Raith keeper just in front of the goal line.
Will aim to post a Full Match Report at some point tomorrow night after work.......
