I'm pretty sure MFR listed Dowie as one of those who had signed.
Also the local rags reported that we had offered Higgy 'the best deal ever', including a Testimonial.
Good to see that these players have signed new contracts straight away, but McCulloch, Higgy and Hart gone - 3 of our biggest players. We need to
replace them, our squad is seriously weaker than it was.
Could we persuade Caley to swap Barrowman for Stewart

I thought I heard that too this morning, maybe the unofficial news that Soutar had signed was meant to be Dowie. I'll take it that was what was
meant anyway

We will struggle without some good quality acquisitions. what scope Del is given for spending and bringing in some talent? One more player? Two more
players?

Dowie has signed for Dunfermline. Boyd and Watt are better CB's than him but I though he was a good player for us. I'd rather they signed Keddie.

The way it reads on the Pars site suggests they already have Keddie signed as well.
" Andy played with Alex Keddie at Stranraer, this experience of playing with Alex should bring a strong understanding to the backline"
did I miss something?

Thats what I thought when I read it. Would be good if it was true although it would leave us abit short in defenders.

Im not so sure. I thought dowie, towards the end, was becoming a decent player for us. Bit sad to see him leave as i dont really rate boyd and dont
like keddie at CB, prefer him at LB as he only has one side to worry about
Daz
Edit: just noticed from article that he signed a 2yr deal. thats Higgy, hart and dowie all left to sign 2yr deals with other clubs and going by
alan's post, everyone being offered 1yr deals could be the reason that they are all leaving. Now im not saying everyone should be offered 2yr deals
but surely the better players should be cause we keep losing them to other clubs for nothing.

With Dowie and McCulloch off is their a danger if Corrigan doesn't sign Girvan might get a game at right back.

I REALLY hope Corrigan signs. Never seen this Girvan boy but i've heard he's good, however, with losing a few key and experienced players i think
its important to have someone lie Corrigan playing week in week out. I was impressed with him in the games he played.
As for girvan, and other young players, i hope they get a chance this season, however, i dont think they should be pushed into the deep end. A bit of
experience in the lower leagues is what they need

No Keddie has signed for us for 1 year. The above quote is a direct cut and paste from the official County site, it looks like the Dunfermline
webmaster was being a tad lazy !

P&J:
Manager Adams feeling let down as Dowie leaves Ross County to sign up with rivals Dunfermline
By Stephen Kasiewicz
Published: 20/05/2009
DEFENDER Andy Dowie has followed Sean Higgins and Richie Hart in leaving Ross County.
Dowie, 26, has signed a two-year contract with Dunfermline – after telling Staggies manager Derek Adams he would stay at Victoria Park.
The former Rangers and Partick Thistle player spent three seasons at Dingwall and Adams is not pleased by the move.
Adams said: “Andy had agreed to sign with us, but he has now agreed to sign with Dunfermline. It is disappointing when someone agrees to sign. He was
made a good offer by the club.
“Ross County have been very good to Andy Dowie. We resurrected his career but he has chosen to move on and we wish him all the best.”
Adams is confident that Craig Brewster will sign a contract to become his assistant.
Former Caley Thistle player-manager Brewster, 42, joined the Dingwall club as player and coach in February after being sacked at Inverness. The
veteran forward scored three goals for County as they kept their place in the First Division.
Adams is in negotiations with Brewster and out-of-contract players Derek Soutar and Martyn Corrigan.
Adams added: “I am still talking to Craig and we hope to tie him up next week.
“He will keep his playing registration, but I would want him as my assistant manager and I would like his role to be more as a coach than a player.
“We are no further forward with Derek Soutar and Martyn Corrigan. I have made them the best offers the club can give. They have a time scale to come
back to us and we will move on if they don’t want to stay.”

It’s important that we Corrigan signed ASAP. With Dowie leaving our already weak back 4 starts to look weaker.
Still any news upon any new players coming into the club, so far it’s only players staying…or not.

As much as its a blow to lose a player, Dowie wasn't good enough to be overly concerned about his loss. Watt and Boyd are better, and Keddie is a
better centre half than him also.

That's a big blow, he certainly looked like a quality player in the few games we saw of him. And now we're pretty short of defenders all-together
unless we're going to start to throw the youth boys into the fray if there are injuries.
So at my count, we've only got 14 players on the books (including Stewart). Not even enough to fill the bench.
We're certainly going to be relying on the connections of the Adams family now. Perhaps even a few loan signings could be the answer. A few have
worked out before, Gary Irvine and Greame Smith for example.

Yea that season worked out magic mate, i seem to remember we ended up in the 2nd Division the season we had a load of loan players, unless they are
loaned to us for the entire season
