RE: Raith at home - Tuesday 28th August
Adams didnt sound very impressed on the radio interviews I heard this morning.
Players were given a chance and never took it etc etc.

I dont have a problem at all with what he did last night, and was happy when I saw the team sheet.
Have to say though hardly anyone impressed, was good to see Lawson back though, very important he stays fit.

Well played Raith.

Fair enough v St.Mirren last year some fans had a point as there was nothing to suggest we'd make a lot of changes but Del clearly stated in the papers yesterday/today that he'd be making changes for this game. If you don't want to watch a weakened team then don't go. Simples.

The Ross County fans were ripped off! £16 to watch what can only be described as rubbish.
I feel sorry for the supporters who had to travel from the outlying areas to watch that.
No! I do not go for this send out “weakened team” nonsense, when I go watch Ross County, I am wishing and hoping that they try their hardest to win every single game they play.
ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSES FOR WHAT CAN ONLY BE DESCIBED AS A VERY SUB STANDARD PERFORMANCE!
I hate to criticise players, so I won’t pick on any individual, it was a bad team performance.
Totally agree with above. I travelled 140 miles round trip and had to take time off work to go to a game where we basically were ripped off. If I had known we were going to play a second team I would not have bothered. I was not alone as others around us were saying the same thing. Surely charging fans £16/£14 for such a game is wrong. Some players need to have a good look at themselves after that!!!

Put it this way guys, it was an experiment that went horribly wrong but these guys needed a run out.

Imagine that was in the league. It would have killed any confidence we had playing at that level.

I would expect the lads playing last night will be hurting big time.

Adams said there would be changes (I didn't expect 9 though) so we had an idea that the team would be weakened. You make a choice to go to a game and unfortunately you take the risk that things might not go according to plan.

Gate prices are agreed and set by County & Raith, so not a lot we could do about this as it was agreed 10+ days ago.

I couldn't make last night, but I would have been happy with the team sheet if handed to me before the game.

They just didn't perform

From Bottom of Highland League, to sitting at Scottish footballs top table.....If Carlsberg did Football stories!.

RE: Raith at home - Tuesday 28th August
Welcome to the disclaimer - I was not at the game so this is based on reading the other posts - don't shoot me if I'm interpreting things wrongly.

One or two are saying that the players that we had out should still beat Raith, why? The quality of player we had on show last night was pretty good, but the most any of them have had of 1st team football in months are 10-15 mins now and again, they would have been lacking match fitness and in particular match sharpness. You can train all you want, you need to play games regularly to keep that sharpness. As has been pointed out, Raith are playing well also.

That being said you would hope they would show some desire, fight and quality at times to make a case for a go on the bench or even the 1st 11 if someone was to get an injury. By the sounds of things that didn't happen. This is the dissappointing thing on reading these reports. This game was perfect to get some of these guys some game time so that if and when they are needed (suspension/injuries/tiredness etc), they were ready...... they have the quality, they have proved it previously, but it's worrying that they showed so little - the reports suggest some of them couldn't have cared less or was it complacency?

I wonder if it was a lack of leadership on the field last night to drive the team on. Brittain, Ketts, Munro, Tokely, Mcmen, Vigurs are the players that talk, shout, encourage, and in effect lead the team. I feel that this is a huge part of why we are doing so well with limit resources but all of them were out. I don't think Lawson is a leader (as good a player as he is), which is not a bad thing, if you have someone alongside him driving everyone one along, which Brittain and Ketts do superbly.

In the grand scheme of things, we are out of the least value cup we have entered, Scottish Cup run and League should be priorities this year (in reverse order obviously). I'm not that bothered about it, if we can continue to prolong this league undefeated run for a few more games, and keep grinding out results to prolong our status in this league, that is more important.

It's gone now and Saturday awaits. The team will be changed again and the heads will be screwed back on right. Killie slipped up too last night. I predict a much tighter and more disciplined performance. Looking forward to seeing the line-up..........

He's NOT the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy!
