New signings, re-signings, and confirmed departures
Decent goalkeeper although I always thought he had a howler in him. Surprised he didn't get a game ahead of Samson but then again, Allan Johnston didn't exactly come across as a guy who knew what he was doing.

An upgrade on both Fraser and Brown for sure.

I'm happy with that one, Reguero is a decent keeper for this level, and certainly an upgrade on Brown & Fraser. Not a clue how Samson was getting played ahead of him at Killie though.

Didnt see that one coming.

Decent signing though.

GOAL
Mark Brown (keeper Coach), Antonio Reguero
DEFENCE
Boyd, Steven Saunders, *Ross MacKillop (under 20s)
?
?
?
MIDFIELD
Mark Klok, Brittain, Joe Cardle, Maatsen, Melvin De Leeuw, Quinn, *Scott Ferries (under 20s)
?
?
FORWARDS
Tony Dingwall, Yoan Arquin (contract ends 31/12/14), Jake Jervis, Liam Boyce, *Kyle MacLeod (under 20s)

Putting aside Brown (Goalkeeping Coach), Macleod, Ferries & Mackillop (under 20s) and assuming Ross goes back out on loan and De Leeuw?????? stays. To make a senior squad of 18 then I reckon we are still looking for 5 more confirmed senior players
3 defenders - Gordon & McLean rumored offered contracts but undecided so at least + 1 new face. To my mind we still need 2 additional, a specialist right back & a central defender which makes 4 defenders if contracts offered are accepted.
3 midfielders - Carey & Ketts rumored offered contracts but undecided – I like both but if they accept then IMO it leaves us short of defensive minded midfielders – in fact we other than Klok we have none.
If what we have confirmed and contracts offered are correct & accepted then the rumored 18 man senior squad is lacking in both defense and central midfield, in reality I think we could be looking at a 20 man senior squad.
A real positive is the forward line looks exciting and could have real potential

I'd like to see us buy a couple of strong holding midfielders as I feel that we have been rather soft in the middle "engine room" before and we need to protect the defence.

100% agree - In reality the Centre Backs in our price range will require protection and cover so I 100% agree a strong covering midfielder, a right back and an effective partner for Boyd at CB look to be our priorities. Easy to say from the safety of our armchairs though!!!

Totally agree - I'm a big fan of having a holding midfielder - someone who can dictate the play from the back and spray passes out to wide players etc...but someone who can also break up the oposing teams attacks and spark counter attacks...

Ex ICT Keeper, Good shot stopper, flaps at cross balls. He has all the hallmarks of a County Keeper.

Watched him play against u20's. He is similar to Brown, no great improvement.

Signings so far, To be honest I will reserve judgement until I see them in the flesh. But I can see where Gudgie 67 is coming from. Not had a signing that we know will do well in this league, just potential.
From Bottom of Highland League, to sitting at Scottish footballs top table.....If Carlsberg did Football stories!.

He'll have been keen to show Roy MacGregor he was capable of commitment.

Still only 23?? I hadn't appreciated that.

Glad he's staying, really came on to a game at the end of the season.

I think this boy can only get better - he was really quite good when at Kilmarnock, really hope we see the best of him this season. I always feel a second season is when you see the best of new guys as they are more settled within themselves and familiar with their surroundings.

I really hope we see him bang in a few goals (I know you probably thought I was going to say something else there....) ;O)

He looked much improved in the last few games and I hope a good pre-season under his belt will let us see the player we expected to see when he signed!

Delighted to see Ben Gordon sign on.. Would like to se him get a run in midfield as I feel he has potential in that role.

Not biting. Glad to secure Gordon, can relax more about Left Back position now. As folk have said there are some other places to strengthen or fill next.

Hello?
Are you out there, Cikos?
Malky Mackay - he's our new manager

Gordon came onto a bit of form at the end of the season and with him still being pretty young, I think it's a good thing for us to have resigned him.

Reguro is pretty decent, similar to Mark Brown.

Mike, please accept my apologies. Ketts has indeed had a hip operation and will be out for 5 months. Sorry I accused you of talking pish.

He is still bothered by it and from what I hear may not be offered a contract because he is not fit for the start of the season. I hope this is not true he is someone who dies for the jersey, showed loyalty year after year staying with us and deserves another contract . He certainly wants to stay.
