1. Swearing - this has been becoming a bigger issue recently - and I've had enough of it. From now on warnings will be issued - persistant infringements will result in banning of said individuals.
2. Personal insults - there have been a spate of these. They have to stop. If someone has an issue with someone I suggest that they use the messaging facilities available and it can be kept off the boards - as it usually turns into a free-for-all. It's childish, and hardly helps build a community spirit within the board. Again this will work with warnings being issued leading to potential banning of individuals for repeated breaking of this rule.
3. Txt Speak - this is more a pet hate of mine. And is more of a guideline than anything - but people have full keyboards in front of them - so can they please use them. With some exceptions that have been used on the internet since the year dot- e.g. lol, IMO, IMHO etc.
4. 'The Jailend' is a forum for County Craic - anything not related will be moved to the 'Anything Goes' forum at the discretion of the moderators.
Finally, I would like to remind everyone who posts messages on OverTheBridge that any comments made are the responsibility of the poster.
We record all IP addresses which can then be produced to the relevant authorities in case of defamatory or abusive comments. |
